I use assessment and treatment techniques from the Postural Restoration Institute that allow me to test joints like the hips and pelvis for their position and strength and to create customized treatment plans to help get your body back into balance reducing knee, hip, back pain and increasing the longevity of your joints and improving your stability. I use these techniques on almost every patient.
None of us are born symmetrically. We all have a heart on one side, a heavy liver on the other, an asymmetrical respiratory diaphgram, 3 lobes on one lung 2 on the other, and most of us have a dominant hemisphere in our brain correlating to a dominant side of our body. This “dominance pattern” is very common, but if it’s not kept in check it can really create issues for some people in how they move and feel. Have you every watched someone with a wonky walk and wondered what’s going on there, or noticed that one or your feet points out to the side when you stand?
