Working in pelvic health
is more than just manually treating the pelvic bowl for issues like leaking and pain. Treating the pelvic floor requires addressing the entire body. Posture and alignment of the entire skeletal system, diaphragm mobility and position, how we breathe, and our pressure management strategies all influence the pelvic floor and they need to be included in treatment. Yes I do internal assessments and treatment, but I also look at gait biomechanics, hip strength and mobility, and pressure management because these all contribute to and affect pelvic floor function.
I recommend pelvic floor education and assessment to any woman who’s had a baby. But especially if you are having any of the issues listed below, don’t wait. The sooner you address your pelvic floor, core, and pressure the sooner you can be back to the good old you.
tail bone pain
pain with sitting
urinary incontinence: leaking urine with cough, laugh, or sneeze (even a little!)
pelvic heaviness
feeling like something is falling out of your vagina, or seeing any bulging
leaking gas or feces
pelvic pain/pain with intimacy/insertional pain
deep butt or hip pain
